Clutches in Automotive Systems Can Be Divided Into The Following Types

With the development of science and technology, clutches can be divided into the following categories: ① hydraulic coupling, also known as Torque converter, uses oil to drive the turbine to achieve power transmission; ② The electromagnetic clutch generates magnetism through the electromagnetic induction of the coil when energized to achieve power transmission; ③ Friction clutches are divided into dry and wet friction clutches, and are further divided into single, double, and multi disc types based on the number of driven discs. With the application of electronic technology in the automotive field, some automatic clutches have also emerged, with control units (ECU) replacing manual clutch operation, reducing the energy loss caused by non-standard operation by car drivers during use. Automatic clutches can be divided into two types: mechanical motor type automatic clutches and hydraulic type automatic clutches. The mechanical type is the movement form that controls the motor to pull the pull rod to drive the clutch to work after the ECU analyzes the accelerator, engine speed and vehicle driving speed, while the hydraulic type uses the electric oil pump instead of the pull rod. Cars equipped with automatic clutches have the advantages of low fuel consumption and low cost compared to AT and CVT cars.
