Pulse reflection method for transformer testing instruments

In the 1970s and 1980s, cable fault testing was generally carried out using the flash detection method, which was based on the pulse reflection method (also known as the Leda method). The instruments used are mainly electronic tubes and transistor circuits, with a large volume. The displays used include oscilloscope tube type flash testers, storage oscilloscope tube type flash testers, and so on. After the 1990s, with the widespread application of computer technology, intelligent cable fault flashover testers (flash testers) began to be put into use, using the pulse reflection method as the testing principle. The flash tester used, ranging from a picture tube display to a liquid crystal display, is commonly controlled by a microcontroller circuit, bringing the rough measurement of cable faults to a new level.
