The core of the popular laptop cable fault tester in the market is the flash tester, which is different. The fixed-point tester and path tester are the same as general cable fault testers, and the testing principle is also the same. It has the following forms:
① The flash tester adopts a laptop data collector, and the fixed-point tester and path tester are separately boxed for use, namely two boxes and one package, or one box and one package. This form of flash tester relies entirely on a laptop for data collection and operation, and has the highest dependence on the computer. Any problem with the computer will directly affect the use of the tester.
② The flash tester adopts the form of combining a laptop data collector and a path analyzer signal source. The fixer is packaged separately. Usually two boxes and one package. This configuration, like the first configuration, relies entirely on a laptop for rough fault testing.
③ The flash tester has an independent operation and display system, and there is a laptop interface on the flash tester. Pathfinder and fixer are individually boxed. This configuration is optional for laptops as auxiliary testing instruments. In general, users rarely use laptops for testing, as using a microcontroller system to test faults is convenient and fast. Therefore, this configuration only increases the complexity and cost of the instrument, and has little practical significance.
④ The flash tester uses a computer motherboard and a LCD display. This type of flash tester has essentially similar performance to a microcontroller controlled flash tester. Due to the use of a computer motherboard, its data storage capacity is larger than that of a flash tester using a microcontroller. In addition, some flash testers can come with floppy drives, USB ports, etc., making communication with laptops more convenient. However, this type of flash tester also has the same drawbacks as laptop flash testers, and its use becomes relatively complex.
